Blog reading

So, lately I've started reading a lot of other blogs by random people I don't know. Usually it's a matter of following links from various blogs until I'm really not sure how lost I am. Some of them are good, some not. Most are about design and creative stuff or good mommy ideas. Well, today I ran across one I have to share (mostly because I was laughing so hard that I actually had tears.) So, if you're looking for something to read today, check out TheBloggess.com . I do have to put a warning on this though - it's not very pg, pc, or CoC. But the three posts I read I found funny anyway :)

Jacob's room

Well, thanks to a wonderful Daddy in our house, Jacob's room is ready! We (but mostly Eric) spent all day Thursday & Friday measuring, sawing, routing, nailing, caulking, taping, painting, & finally cleaning. Jessica and Amanda had helped me paint the top of the room a little while back so this week was the time to finish it off. Eric has done crown molding, wainscoting, and a picture rail in here. Then he used his master painter skills to finish it off. He was also so sweet to move the furniture back in after 10pm last night so that we could see it "completed". We still need some finishing touches such as pictures, a lamp, etc. but I have checked the room off as officially "done!"

I Won!!

I am super excited right now!! I tend to enter drawings from time to time but never really expect to win anything (because that's usually how it goes :) ) but today I did!!!

As you might have seen recently, I've added the Fabulous Fun Finds button to our blog. I found her blog from the Tip Junkie blog and have started entering her giveaways. She always has tons of cool stuff on there (and next week starts the ALL BOY week!) that different companies are giving away. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on her blog.

So last week I entered to win the Sperry Top Sider Sandals she had featured and this morning I get an email that I won! Actually, the email went to my junk mailbox accidentally so it's a really good thing that I checked that too today :) How fun! Here's a picture of them:

Baby Update

Just an update about our baby boy we're expecting. At the last Dr. appointment I had an ultrasound that estimates little Jacob to be 3 lbs already! With this in mind, and since I had a c-section with Taylor, we went ahead and scheduled his c-section date for July 22nd. So, hopefully that remains the plan! I'll keep everyone posted as we go...

Taylor's Big Girl Bed

Taylor's "Big Girl Bed" arrived yesterday. We had been talking about it for awhile so she was pretty excited to try it out. These are some pictures of her first time sleeping in it for her nap. Mommy had to stay and rub her back until she fell asleep but since then she's been great about getting right in. It's funny to see her in there because she takes up less than a quarter of the bed! All of her animals are at the foot of the bed so today when I put her down for a nap she said, "Just a minute Mommy, I have to get my bear in bed with me." Which meant moving him from the end of the bed to up by her :) We have to give a big "Thank You!" to Mimi for her new bed! It's definitely beautiful in her room and just what Mommy wanted :)

Easter Egg Hunts

Here are some pictures of Taylor hunting eggs this year. She had three different egg hunts so she's become really good at finding them!

Her first was at our church, where she not only had to find an egg, but find them with her name on them! That's a little difficult to explain to a 2 year old. It was more of a hunt for Mommy than Taylor!



The next was at our friends, Heather & Daryl's Crawfish Boil. There were a lot of kiddos there and the Faus's were so thoughtful to have a jumping castle and an egg hunt! Some of the eggs were camouflaged but Taylor had lots of fun with the help of some Easter Bunnies :)



Finally, it was raining on Easter morning but it cleared up enough to have a small egg hunt in the front yard that afternoon. We had our friends, Chris, Christina, and Harry over for lunch and then I totally forgot to hide the eggs in the house after lunch! Sorry Harry!
