Laurie's Baby Shower
My good friend, Laurie, is having a little girl in September. Her baby shower was this past Sunday and was beautiful! I can't wait to go over and visit soon and look through all her goodies :) I missed seeing most of them since I was busy trying to take some pictures and make sure Taylor wasn't terrorizing anyone. Tay was actually very well behaved (or course!) and made herself useful by carrying presents to the bedroom after they were opened. I think she only technically opened one present that Laurie wasn't ready for yet! We'll work on that :)
All of the food was delicious and very cute. Susan's home is just beautiful and the shower was really nice. It was so much fun to see the excitement in Laurie, opening all of these new, adorable baby things. I can remember my shower for Taylor and how overwhelming it was to get home and wonder where to put everything! I'm so excited for her and Matt and I know that they will be wonderful parents to this little girl.

Melt your heart cute!
"Melt your heart" That's all I could think of when I saw this picture of Taylor.
I took her outside wearing her sundress on Saturday to practice taking pictures with our new camera. It's fun to be able to take a lot of shots really fast but you don't really know what you got until you put them on your computer and go through them all. There are a ton to discard, but when you come across a really good one, you just stop. That's how it was with these two pictures. The other thing Eric and I both thought was, "She's getting so big! She's a little girl now, not our little baby." I guess that's good though since there will be a new baby soon.

Our new addition: the Canon EOS 50D
We got our new camera this past Friday so hopefully we'll have some better pictures on the blog from now on. I cannot say enough, how much I LOVE this camera!! Just in the past few days it has been so much fun to take pictures and have them turn out well. Eric and I have taken a ton of pics of Taylor to "test" it and learn the functions (which I'm sure will be a continuous learning process.) Over the weekend we were able to get good shots of TNT Broomball, Taylor in the flowers, and Laurie's baby shower.
Here is our newest addition: (don't worry...our even better new addition - Jacob- will be on the blog in a couple of days!)

Daddy's helper
Today Taylor helped Daddy plant flowers in the front flower beds. She absolutely LOVES to "help" in any way that she can. (I know this will be very useful as soon as her little brother gets here!) For anyone who has been to our house in the past month or so, Thank You! for ignoring our front walk and "not" mentioning what a mess it was!! I finally got the energy to pull out all the weeds last week and Eric was so kind to offer to plant any flowers I found to fill the space. Also, our two big pots at the front door had finally lost the ferns in them from lack of watering in this Texas heatwave we're having. Those were replaced too! Here are some pictures of my two gardeners this morning - before the hornet chased us inside!!

First Sleepover!
Taylor had her first sleepover Friday night. Her best friend, Kinley, came over for the night so Kinley's mommy & daddy could celebrate their 5th Anniversary. (Happy Anniversary Jess & Ryan!) I only managed to get pictures of dinner since we got home so late. We took Kinley with us to a group birthday dinner for Daddy's friend, David, down in Houston. The girls were both so well behaved and we had a great night. As soon as we got home they both fell fast asleep. I'm sure the days (or nights) of giggling all night long are soon to come, but for the first sleepover, this suited Mommy & Daddy just fine!
