Easter Egg Hunt

Our church had an Easter Egg Hunt last Saturday and Taylor had a great time! There were a lot of kiddos there and that means a lot of activity!! Each child got ten eggs with their names on them so they would know what to look for. This was a little tricky trying to tell Taylor that "yes, you found an egg, but we can't take that one. Let's find one with your name on it." Since she doesn't read yet it meant I had to scour the place for "taylor" eggs while Mimi tried to divert her attention. We had lots of fun though and of course, it was a great photo op!

A Visit to Aunt Bebe's

We took a trip into Houston to visit Aunt Bebe, JoJo, and Daddy Jack. Taylor LOVES getting in the water, even if it's freezing! She managed to persuade her Mimi to let her get in the hot tub (we turned on the heat, don't worry!) After all her activity she slept like a little princess on the mink blanket. Such a hard life!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Graduation!

Taylor completed her swimming lessons today and got her certificate! She has lots of fun in the water now and only gets upset when we try to get her out of the pool. I got in the water with her today to learn some techniques to use at home. She's a really strong little girl and will push off of you in the water to start floating by herself. I'm looking forward to a fun filled summer putting our pool to good use!
If any of you reading this have kiddos I strongly urge you to look into a program like the one we used. They teach children from 6 months of age and up how to hold their breath, how to float, and when old enough, how to swim to safety. While this will never replace proper supervision around the water, it helps to know that your child has a skill they can use if needed. And though I hope she'll never have to rescue herself, she will also never remember a time when she wasn't comfortable in the water. It's just so neat for me to see her in the pool, smiling and laughing, and wanting to swim and play. Here are some photos of her lessons. If I can figure it out I will post some videos as well.
